REGISTERED 100% BOER GOATS

We fell in love with Boer goats years ago when we started with a small herd of quality registered 100% does.  It costs no more to raise a quality goat than it does to raise a mixed breed so why start with inferior stock!  We decided to invest our money in a few quality does as opposed to purchasing several "percentage" does.  Registered 100% stock was extremely expensive at the time but we are now very glad that we did even though it has taken years to build our herd.  We have stayed true to our plan and have no percentage goats on our farm.

Through buck selection and strong culling, we have continued to improve our herd to a very respectable commercial herd of seed stock producers.  These are not pampered animals fed high cost feeds, they are bred to thrive on brush and weeds.  As the breed has become more popular and plentiful, so have prices become more reasonable.  Our animals are affordable, healthy, and show quality.  We offer free consultation after the purchase to ensure you are successful with your goat endeavor.  Help is only a phone call away.

We've got what you need:

We are very excited about this year's kids.  They are the first kids from our new herd sire "MR. DISCOVERY."  Discovery is a son of the ennobled BUTTMASTER.  Buttmaster (shown above) was ennobled at the early age of 27 months; only 2 have been ennobled at an earlier age to date.  Discovery's mother was a solid red doe from the ennobled Eggsfile and Wobbles blood line.  In all, Discovery's pedigree carries 7 ennobles.  Matched with our very long-backed hardy does, the result will be nothing less than impressive.

Our bucks are priced very reasonably and will be available for sale starting in August, just in time for the fall breeding season.  Let our genetics add muscling, width, and length in addition to the chance for reds or paints in your Boer herd.  All bucks come with registration papers.  Call for an appointment to visit our farm today.  We always love to talk goat!

Why Raise Goats?

There are many advantages to raising goats.  The first and probably the driving force behind the explosion in the goat industry is the influx of goat eating immigrants to this country.  There is no way that goat producers in the U.S. can keep up with the growing demand for fresh goat meat so much of it comes from frozen imports.  Live goat prices continue to rise and show no sign of slowing.  You can run 8 goats on the same amount of land you would run one cow and these 8 does will produce, on average, close to 16 kids a year.  Each kid will go to market at 80 pounds in 8 months.  Calculate it and you will see that goats can out produce cattle on a per pound/ per acre unit.  Goats are even a better choice if your land is less than desirable for cattle.  Goats thrive on rocky, brushy hillsides.  They will also take an un-improved, weed infested pasture and have it growing grass in a few years.

But I'm a Cattle Rancher!

You don't have to give up being a cattle rancher to raise goats.  Goats can be added to your cattle herd at 2 to 3 per cow unit without affecting your cattle production.  The benefit to your pasture in brush and weed control, reduce parasite loads, and increased profitability per acre make goats a very wise investment.  Many people purchase inexpensive mixed or dairy goat does and then put them with a quality 100% Boer buck to produce fast growing marketable kids.  The bottom line is increased by saving on wormers and brush control and by increasing the pounds of meat marketed on a per acre basis. Dollars in your pocket, that's why you should raise goats.
